Our CSR programs strive to improve the quality of life of our employees and their families; they also care for the welfare of neighboring communities and the environment.
We believe in the definition of sustainable development of the UN: "To achieve sustainable development, it is essential to harmonize three basic elements, namely economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection. These elements are interrelated and are all essential for the wellbeing of people and societies."

Certifications
Agrocaribe cares about the sustainability of the environment, its workers and the communities. To achieve this, it abides by the laws of the country and has earned the following international certifications:
RSPO
Agrocaribe was the first oil palm company in Central America and the fourth in the world to obtain the RSPO "Preserved Identity" certification. The standard for RSPO Supply Chain Certification was developed to ensure the safety and traceability of supply chains, and is intended to provide credible evidence that this oil comes from sustainable sources.
Rainforest
Alliance
Agrocaribe is the first oil palm company in the world that is certified through the regulations of the Sustainable Agriculture Network under the Rainforest Alliance Certified (RAS) Seal.
To certify estates with the Rainforest Alliance Certified Seal, 100 criteria developed by RAS are used, covering continuous improvement and social, environmental as well as economic criteria to ensure and adopt the concept of sustainable agriculture.
BASC
Procesadora del Atlántico is the first certified palm oil mill in the world. We give our clients the assurance of security in the production and dispatch logistics chain; we also guarantee the quality of the oil milling process.
Certified Emissions Reduction
Authorization was obtained for the Biogas Energy Plant from Palm Oil Mill Effluent Project from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala and under the United Nations Kyoto Protocol.
OK Kosher
Procesadora del Atlántico and Procesadora La Francia are Kosher certified and authorized to produce palm oil and crude palm oil, with the guarantee that no products of animal origin such as milk and its by-products, alcohol, wine, beer, chocolate, grape juice and its by-products are used in the oil milling process.

RSPO
RSPO is a non-profit organization that brings together oil palm stakeholders for a roundtable meeting held to work together towards a common goal, achieve global standards and promote the sustainable use of palm oil.
CENTRARSE
CENTRARSE – The Center for the Action of Corporate Social Responsibility in Guatemala aims to promote an attitude of change in companies operating in Guatemala to consciously implement Corporate Social Responsibility practices.
Agrocaribe is a member of its Board of Directors.
ACHILES
Achilles provides information on suppliers in the acquisition process. Evaluates and monitors suppliers, which offers lasting benefits for buyers, including new access to business opportunities and to improve procurement efficiency and risk reduction in the supply chain.

SEDEX
Sedex is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting business practice improvements in relation to the ethics and responsibility of supply chains throughout the world. It helps to reduce risks, to protect the reputation of companies, and to improve supply chain practices.
