For the second consecutive year, the art auction XNOX/BAM will take place, to benefit the Endowment Fund for Agricultural Development of Guatemala in the school El Zamorano. It grants scholarships to young people from the rural areas.

Currently there are four Guatemalans with scholarships: Yuri Tecún, José Buezo, Pedro Carrillo and Manuel de Jesús García Chaclán. Agrocaribe contributes with $25,000 to the fund to support low income students for five years.

“In 2009, I approved El Zamorano's admissions exam, but didn't obtain the funds to finance my studies and I told myself: 'Next year I will try again', thinking that perseverance is a virtue by which all virtues give fruit, and thank God it gave fruit and now I'm in my second year, working towards my goal of graduating as an agricultural engineer. It has been hard due to the bad preparation I had from previous schools, but I'm overcoming all these obstacles every day. The Endowment Fund for Agricultural Development of Guatemala is helping me with half a scholarship”.

The auction will have 7 works from Antonia Matos. Besides, 80 sets of work from widely national and international recognized artists will be auctioned. It will be held on September 20, at Torres Pradera, from 7 p.m.
