Agrocaribe participated in CentraRSE's National Forum: "Sustainable Dialogue, Road to Development" that proposed a dialogue mechanism to create relationships and partnerships to reduce conflicts. Besides, Agrocaribe invited community leaders and local authorities to participate in the forum to provide an opportunity to learn this and multiply it in their communities.

Agrocaribe invited a group of communities from Morales and Puerto Barrios, who attended the forum held in Guatemala City. Participating leaders represented 13 communities neighbors of the company’s operations: Entre Rios, Piteros, San Francisco Vuelta Grande, Media Luna, El Quetzalito, Jimeritos, Tenedores Campamento and Estación, Champona Línea and Inta, Sinai, Rio Negro and Buena Vista; representatives of local authorities such as the Governor’s office, and the Municipalities of Puerto Barrios and Morales, who were also invited by Agrocaribe.

The day before the Forum, a meeting was held with the community leaders with the aim of establishing a dialogue between the company and the neighboring communities. The meeting consisted of a presentation given by the General Manager of Agrocaribe on its products, operations and corporate social responsibility projects; a discussion with the communities began after the presentation which was very satisfactory because the company got feedback from the leaders on Agrocaribe and had a conversation on topics such as community projects.

The following day the leaders participated in the National Forum, which was attended by more than 600 persons: government officials, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, businessmen, community leaders and civil society.

Once again, Agrocaribe is concerned on keeping a close relationship with its communities, where through dialogue, there is transparency, humbleness, confidence to communicate and build together a joint beneficial vision for both parties.

The leaders were grateful to the company

“Thanks to everyone in Agrocaribe for inviting us to this meeting, this is one of the many things that Agrocaribe is adding to benefit the development of the communities, we want to thank the manager and owners of the company, as a community we are very grateful, thank you for always being attentive and inviting us to these activities that are beneficial to the communities.
